The importance of rights


NEVER has this warning been more prescient in recent times as our civil liberties are continually eroded in the UK and US by over zealous governments who pretend to be acting on behalf of he people while preserving their own agendas:

Benjamin Franklin warned that “those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.”

  1. It’s a sobering thought when you realise that no-one is actually acting on your behalf, it’s a notion that we all believe in to one extent or another I think, but it is as transient and as vague as smoke.
