Starting a new job

first day at work pugThey say moving house and divorce are two of the most stressful things in life that can happen to you. Who are ‘they’? I’m not sure, but it doesn’t really matter right now. Hopefully a divorce won’t happen and I’ve moved house/flat/abode several times – not fun, but even less fun is being ‘the new guy’. I’m not a hugely outgoing type of person so it’s a real effort to be introducing myself and asking questions all the time while trying to learn a new job and the ins and outs. WAY more stressful than any moving.
The first day done, being back at home is blissful but the mind is swimming in names, faces and how to do stuff. It doesn’t help being 20 minutes late to begin with – at least I was early for my job interview, so now I think it’s all squared; no surplus or deficit owed. The good thing is the work involves helping people with autism, a very worthy cause. At least once I’m trained up I’ll be able to help someone else’s life and watch as service users improve.

What is more stressful? What’s more stressful for you?

  1. You are a unique person. Some people can handle certain things and some can not. I am sometimes amazed at the depth of many people. Most people are nice. There are a few however that are not. But to work with autism is very special. I applaud you.

    1. Many thank yous 🙂 I’m sure it will be challenging but ultimately rewarding too plus I won’t be stuck behind a computer all day.

Please, type what you think
