(or whatever currency you use)
YOU WAKE UP, and for some inexplicable reason, you check your bank account before impatiently refreshing WordPress. You, are an overnight millionaire. Who knows where it came from. Don’t question that. And yes, you are awake.
The thing is — are you still going to write?
Absolutely!

That would be the day that I quit my job!
I’ll invest wisely, travel my country for a year and write everyday!

I don’t know. I’m such a lazy laggard that it might make me even lazier. I’ve just had the quietest working year of my life (I write ads, marketing stuff etc. god help me); I had tons of free time on my hands and yet my ‘real’ writing output did not flourish at all. My Candy Crush results went up though. I’m just a waste of space. 😦

Not only would I write, I’d write a lot, AND I’d traditionally publish! Lol! My pursuit of happiness is to be able to just write without the distractions of a pesky J.O.B. or the worries of making a house payment, a car payment or wondering if I’ll be ok with the medical insurance coverage I can afford versus what I’d like to have. If I had those things covered (and trust me I wouldn’t have mansion or a Rolls Royce), there was money in the bank and I could write–life would be a dream.

Yeah it would be the ideal scenario. I wonder how many people would stop writing though due to the comfort, due to the lack of a drive to push forward.
I imagine you could have a pretty aggressive marketing strategy with a million behind you, when releasing a book.

Oh my gosh, are you kidding me — I’m going to write more, I’d think, at least for a month or so while I take a nice long vacation to all the places that inspire me. Sadly, I don’t think $1M I’d quite enough for me to quit my day job entirely, but I’d invest it so when it is time to retire (in thirty or so years) I’d be able to travel again and continue to write. 🙂

Interesting answer. With all that money your writing would increase due to having time to do it?

I’d like to think so. Right now I fit it in around work and other engagements, so who knows when I’ll have this first draft of the first novel done (hopefully this year!), but take away the time commitment (at least for a little while) of an 8am-5pm job, and I’d be able to prioritize my writing more.
