Weekly Six LIII – Six Word Stories

SLIGHT DELAY in transmission… Been concentrating on editing Down To Earth so it’s finally readable front to back, and… joke writing (future project). It also dawned on me recently that I’ve hardly written an original short story in over four months. Not good. I always feel better mentally when I write, so working on planning my time better to do it more frequently. Enjoy these six worders:

Swedish all night party: 6 months.

Chipped nail. Pink. Finally a lead.

They’d been chopping wood/humans/wood…

BlacK, blacK, blacK. Death by cop.

Held hostage. No demands. By…memories.

Phone rang for years. Forever hopeful.

  1. I know all too well about the Swedish all night party… 🙂

    Would this work?
Lipstick on collar – sleeping on coach.

      Nice addition as ever 👍

  2. These have an overall bleak theme this time. Well done!

And if you expect anything happy it could be a long wait 😂 always tend to go down a dark road with these

  3. My fave was the phone ringing for years. Though the Swedish night was brilliant.

    1. Thanks my man, always thankful for your feedback.

  4. Another thought-provoking set of stories, especially the one about memories…makes me ponder what it would mean to be held hostage by them.

    1. Thank you jade 🙂
In essence any memory or memories that repeat that we do not wish to have could be considered like a hostage taker.

      1. The only demand a memory could have is ‘Attention. Resolve me.’ But a memory can’t articulate that.
Fantastic story. I also like the one about the phone ringing, very bittersweet.

      2. Thank you Ashlee 🙂 Still amazes me how a memory is even stored, a moment can be captured in a cell somewhere somehow 😮

      3. ‘Captured in a cell’ ‘Taken hostage’ Heh, heh, heh…
        I’ll see myself out.

  5. Very fresh and clever as usual. I like the phone story best. Poignant. I’m looking forward to a short story.
